For those who cherish a deeper connection to their coffee, Zeit Roaster's emphasis on farm-to-cup traceability ensures that every cup tells a story of its origins. As customer reviews highlight, this cozy coffee shop truly becomes a haven for enthusiasts looking to learn, taste, and share their passion. Excellent coffee. One of my favorites in CM. We've tried the Choco and the Cold Brew Creme. They serve their drinks very sweet, so if you don't take your coffee sweet, make sure you ask for no sugar.

Absolutely amazing specialty coffee experience here in Chiang Mai. The drink was quite expensive (250 bat thai) but the taste was absolutely worth the price.

Easily the best coffee I’ve had in all of Southeast Asia. A variety of incredibly high quality coffee options to choose from, and such a beautifully elegant atmosphere. A must-visit in Chiang Mai.

**1. Coffee Quality: Farm-to-Cup Traceability** Zeit Roaster stands out with its **"specialty pour-over only"** approach, emphasizing full control from bean sourcing to roasting. - **Bean Origin**: Sources Arabica beans directly from farms in Northern Thailand (e.g., Chiang Rai, Pai), ensuring freshness and traceability. - **Roasting Technique**: Offers a **"half-day coffee farm tour"** (~300 THB) covering picking, processing, roasting, and brewing for an immersive experience. - **Brewing Style**: Focuses on single-origin pour-overs, highlighting **citrusy acidity and honey-like sweetness** (e.g., sun-dried Chiang Mai highland beans), contrasting with Chiang Mai’s typical dark-roasted espresso culture. **2. Space Design: Industrial Minimalism Meets Coffee Lab** - **Aesthetic**: Unlike Chiang Mai’s common "jungle café" or Japanese-inspired designs (e.g., Thingamajiggy Coffee Roaster’s bamboo huts), Zeit Roaster adopts an **open-bar industrial style**, resembling a "coffee laboratory" with transparent production processes. - **Interactive Experience**: Customers can observe roasting firsthand; some branches (e.g., Nimman) feature **raw bean displays** for educational engagement. **3. Brand Ethos: Local Roots, Global Standards** - **Community Ties**: Similar to Akha Ama (a cooperative-run brand), Zeit Roaster supports local farmers through farm tours, promoting **"seed-to-cup" sustainability**. - **International Craftsmanship**: Roasters often hold SCA certifications or competition training, aligning with global specialty coffee benchmarks while maintaining local pricing (pour-overs: 80–120 THB/cup / ~$2–3 USD). **4. Industry Role: Chiang Mai’s "Coffee Educator"** - **Market Differentiation**: In a city saturated with aesthetic cafés (e.g., The Baristro’s Kyoto-themed outlets), Zeit Roaster carves a niche with **technical rigor**, attracting professionals and enthusiasts. - **Challenge**: Balancing **tourism appeal** with **purist credibility**—farm tours risk being perceived as "Instagrammable activities" rather than genuine coffee education. **Verdict: An "Anti-Trend" Specialty Coffee Hub** Zeit Roaster embodies Chiang Mai’s lesser-known coffee narrative: rejecting Instagrammable gimmicks to let **coffee speak for itself**. Its success hinges on: 1. **Northern Thailand’s mature coffee supply chain** (high-quality local Arabica); 2. A **"visible production" model**, catering to transparency demands; 3. **Commitment to niche excellence** amid Chiang Mai’s café saturation. **Suggestions**: Introduce multilingual coffee guides or compact workshops (e.g., 1-hour roasting sessions) to accommodate tourists’ limited time.

For all coffee lovers this is spectacular. Cold brew coconut cream. They also serv it with Madeleine home made in different flavours. You also get to sniff the different coffee Ben's and make your choice. The staff know so much about it and they helped us choose based on type and roast. A great experience that should never be missed if you are in Chiang Mai. We meet the owner who was so friendly and explained the concept behind every and each blend. They even gave us the recipe of the coconut sweet brewed coffee. So kind place and every thing is served with love and passion.
